    Digital strategy coach and consultant - specialising in the non-profit sector Jan 2015 - Present

    Recently launched 'The New Reality' - a major new study into digital transformation for non-profits. The study includes interviews with 50 senior industry figures including CEOs and directors of major charities, and sector and tech experts.


    Other recent consultancy work includes delivering digital training programmes for major charities, and producing a strategic insight reports into the future of online advice, and innovation models for the sector.


    Creative Director Apr 2013 - Mar 2015

    Part of the senior leadership team at the UK’s top independent agency (The Drum 2014), directing a team of 25. Responsible for helping to shape the agency, and for producing digital strategies and effective creative solutions to meet commercial and non-profit clients’ business and user needs. I have lead:

    • digital transformation projects for commercial and non-profit clients 
    • multiple research studies into charity supporter behaviour and the experiences of people affected by long-term health conditions and disabilities
    • redevelopment of over 20 charity websites including Girl effect, Scouts and Prostate Cancer UK
    • training programmes for both commercial and non-profit sector clients


    Public Zone

    Head of User Experience Jan 2009 - Jan 2012

    Public Zone was the sister agency to Zone and focused solely on third sector clients. The agencies merged in 2011.


    On Public Zone’s leadership team I helped to grow the agency from <£1million turnover to over £3million within 2 years. I was responsible for new business, for establishing a team of designers, researchers and creative technologists, and for building audience insight into all of our work.


    Creative Director Aug 2000 - Dec 2008

    Responsible for leading innovation projects for the BBC’s digital service including:

    • Research and design for the original award-winning BBC iPlayer service
    • Creating and chairing a cross-BBC steering group tasked with delivering efficiency and consistency in output & work-flow for the whole of bbc.co.uk
    • Commercialising the UK site for the international market
